Because we are a virtual company, you can work from the comfort of your own home! However, you NEED to be a self-starter and require little regular supervision. The websites we build can range from simple HTML/CSS information sites, to ecommerce sites that utilize solutions such as Avactis and Magento, to more dynamic sites that use Expression Engine. However, a very strong understanding of HTML and CSS is a must.

This position will be paid on a per project basis. In other words, you will know exactly what needs to be done and how much you will be paid before each assigned project.

Ok, interested? Here is what we need from you:

• Like we emphasized earlier, you NEED to be self-sufficient, self-starter, and able to work independently. When we give you an assignment, we want to be comfortable that you will have it done before the set deadlines. At the same time, you need to be able to communicate with the OPV team.
• The ability to slice up Photoshop designs into Transitional XHTML/CSS using div’s (table-less CSS markup)
• The ability to load content into new client websites using our CMS or Shopping Cart
• Maintain existing client websites primarily using standard HTML Editors or CMS – switching into source code when required to tweak.
• Communicating with clients regarding website changes, etc

While adding video to your online store isn’t exactly new, it is still a medium in its infancy.  Only within the last year or so have retailers begun to wake up to the power of video as a marketing tool that builds customer confidence and increases conversion rates. The amazing thing about video is that it works to this effect whether it’s watched or not.  In other words, just by adding product videos to your site, whether they’re watched or not, will help move products.

Why add video to your site’s product pages?  Because simply put, product videos sell products.  While shoppers who actually view a product video are buying at a higher rate than those who choose not to watch the video, what has proven even more interesting is the fact that people who do NOT watch the video are converting at a significantly higher rate than shoppers viewing the same product page without the option for video viewing.
